External Evaluation

The approaches taken by TIS have been recognized by various organizations at home and abroad that evaluate corporate ESG (environmental/social/governance) practices. The Company has been included in the following SRI (social responsibility investment) indexes and funds. The most recent major evaluation results are highlighted below.

FTSE4Good Index Series

The FTSE4Good Index Series, created by global index provider FTSE Russell, is designed to measure the performance of companies demonstrating strong ESG practices.

FTSE Blossom Japan Index

The FTSE Blossom Japan Index, created by global index provider FTSE Russell, is designed to provide market participants with a tool for measuring the performance of Japanese companies demonstrating strong ESG practices.

FTSE Blossom Japan Sector Relative Index

The FTSE Blossom Japan Sector Relative Index, created by global index provider FTSE Russell, reflects the performances of Japanese companies that excel relatively in their respective sectors with respect to ESG. It is designed to be sector-neutral. To facilitate the transition to a low-carbon economy, only companies whose improvement efforts are evaluated by the TPI Management Quality Score* are included in the index, especially in the case of companies with high greenhouse gas emissions.
* TPI Management Quality Score: Assesses the quality of a company’s management of greenhouse gas emissions and the risks and opportunities associated with low-carbon transition.

DX Certification

The DX Certification System is based on the Act on Partial Revision of the Act on Facilitation of Information Processing, which came into force on May 15, 2020. It is designed to certify companies that are ready to take action in accordance with the “Digital Governance Code” established by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) and to address social changes brought about by digital technologies through dialogue with stakeholders.
On May 1, 2023, TIS was certified as a DX Certified Operator that meets the specified standards related to formulation of a management vision and establishment of related strategies and systems.

MSCI Japan ESG Select Leaders Index

The MSCI Japan ESG Select Leaders Index consists of stocks of publicly listed Japanese companies deemed by MSCI, a leading U.S. financial services company, to demonstrate relatively superior ESG performances based on a comprehensive understanding of ESG-related risks in their respective industries. Stocks selected for inclusion are based on MSCI’s own ratings.
The MSCI Japan ESG Select Leaders Index consisted of 242 companies as of June 2023.
The General Pension Investment Fund (GPIF), which manages Japan’s public pension fund, has adopted this ESG index as one of its criteria for ESG-related investments.

MSCI Japan Empowering Women Index (WIN)

The MSCI Japan Empowering Women Index, created by U.S.-based MSCI, aims to represent the performance of Japanese companies exhibiting an excellent commitment gender diversity

CDP Climate change A -

CDP is a non-profit organization established in the United Kingdom in 2000. It represents institutional investors around the world who are concerned about environmental issues and evaluates the environmental performances of more than 13,000 companies worldwide.
It provides eight levels of evaluation: leadership (A, A -), management (B, B -), recognition (C, C -), and information disclosure (D, D -). The TIS INTEC Group received an A - rating (leadership level) in fiscal 2023.

SOMPO Sustainability Index

The SOMPO Sustainability Index consists of approximately 300 companies that excel in ESG initiatives. It is used to select stocks for inclusion in “SOMPO Sustainable Management,” an investment product offered by SOMPO Asset Management Co., Ltd.
Selected stocks are reviewed annually based on the results of the “Bunanomori Environment Survey” and “ESG Management Survey” conducted by Sompo Risk Management Inc.
TIS was selected for fiscal 2023, following fiscal 2022, in recognition of its overall ESG initiatives, which are connected to how its long-term corporate value is evaluated.

The S&P/JPX Carbon Efficient Index

The S&P/JPX Carbon Efficient Index focuses on the environmental information disclosure status and carbon efficiency level (carbon emissions per sales volume) of companies and determines the weight of component stocks accordingly.

Nikkei Smart Work /Nikkei SDGs

The Nikkei Smart Work Management Survey has been conducted by Nikkei Inc. since 2017 and targets listed companies and leading unlisted companies nationwide. It defines "smart work management" as efforts to maximize organizational performance in three ways-providing diverse and flexible work styles, building a system for creating new businesses, and having the ability to develop markets-and rates companies on a 5-star scale.

TIS received a 4-star rating in the 6th Nikkei Smart Work Management survey. It also received a 3-star rating in the Nikkei SDGs Management Survey, which evaluates companies that work to resolve social, economic, and environmental issues through their businesses and link such initiatives to increased corporate value.

Certified Health & Productivity Management Outstanding Organizations

The Certified Health and Productivity Management Recognition Program, run by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) and Nippon Kenko Kaigi (NKK), recognizes companies that engage in activities to address health issues and maintain particularly good health management practices to promote well-being. By spotlighting companies engaged in excellent health management practices, METI and NKK seek to create an environment in which companies can be evaluated publicly, by employees as well as job seekers, affiliated companies, financial institutions and other components of society, for taking a strategic approach to employee health management from a business perspective.
Four TIS INTEC Group companies-TIS, INTEC, AGREX, and QUALICA-were selected as Certified Health & Productivity Management Outstanding Organizations in 2023. In addition, TIS and INTEC were included the "White 500" list of top-performing companies.

Semi-Nadeshiko Brand

The Nadeshiko Brand  is a joint initiative of the Japan Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry and the Tokyo Stock Exchange that selects publicly listed companies showing exceptional progress in advancing women in the workplace. It aims to accelerate efforts to empower working women by communicating these brands to investors with the focus on improving corporate value over the medium to long-term.
TIS is working to build an organizational culture in which every employee can excel and grow based on their motivation to contribute. To empower women to apply themselves authentically, derive meaning from work, and achieve personal fulfillment, TIS is not only developing programs to support work-life balance, but also supporting self-directed career building, promoting women to higher positions, and preparing female candidates for executive roles. These measures to promote women’s advancement, and systems for popularizing and embedding those measures within the organization, were recognized with this designation.

Diversity Management Selection 100

TIS is has embraced the concept of Diversity & Inclusion to enhance the capabilities of people—a key management resource—as well as the organization and also to form a corporate culture based on OUR PHILOSOPHY, the corporate philosophy that guides the entire TIS INTEC Group. A basic policy under Medium-Term Management Plan (2018–2020) is to emphasize employee self-fulfillment, and we are working to create an environment, culture and programs that motivate employees and reinforce human resources management. This approach has enabled us to raise employee satisfaction and attract and train human resources who will fuel structural transformation, and the results have earned us stellar external recognition.

Eruboshi (L-Star)

The “Eruboshi (L-Star)” is bestowed by the Minister for Health, Labour and Welfare to corporations that excel in supporting the advancement of women. There are three levels of certification based on five evaluation criteria set by the Ministry: recruitment, continued employment, workstyles (including working hours), proportion of women in managerial roles, and diversity of career options.

Three Group companies (TIS, INTEC, and AGREX) earned Grade 3 certification (highest level) and four Group companies (QUALICA, AJS, TIS Solution Link, and TIS Chiyoda Systems) earned Grade 2 certification.

Platinum Kurumin Plus

The "Kurumin" mark is bestowed on companies that have formulated action plans for supporting a balance between work and childcare based on the Act on Advancement of Measures to Support Raising the Next Generation of Children, and achieved the goals of those plans.

TIS has obtained Kurumin certification four times, in 2008, 2011, 2016, and 2019. In 2019, we also obtained Platinum Kurumin certification, and in 2022 we obtained Platinum Kurumin Plus certification, which recognizes companies that are committed to child-rearing support and balancing work and infertility treatment. We will continue taking measures to develop and secure human resources through support for male employees taking parental leave and gender-neutral career education.
AGREX and INTEC Solution Power have obtained the Platinum Kurumin, while AJS and TIS West Japan have obtained the Kurumin.

Tomonin

The “Tomomin” mark is given to companies by the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare in recognition of measures that support improvement and promotion of a workplace environment that enables employees to balance work and nursing care.
To prevent a situation where an employee has to quit to care for elderly family members, TIS is creating a workplace environment that makes it easier for employees to balance work and nursing care obligations.

PRIDE Index

The PRIDE Index is an index to evaluate the efforts of companies and other organizations related to LGBTQ issues, developed by Work with Pride, a voluntary organization that aims to realize workplaces where LGBTQ people can work with pride.
TIS has developed a system that is based on the premise of diverse gender identities and families. In order to realize a safe working environment for everyone, regardless of gender identity or sexual orientation, TIS has worked for understanding and acceptance, and was certified as "Silver" in the Pride index for fiscal year 2022.

DC Excellent Company

The DC Excellent Company award is presented by the Defined Contribution Pension Education Association to companies that have distinguished themselves in their ongoing education and management of defined contribution pension plans. TIS is highly regarded for its ongoing employee education activities and was recognized as a “DC Excellent Company (Continuing Investment Education category)” in fiscal 2020 at the 9th Japan DC Forum hosted by the Defined Contribution Pension Education Association, a non-profit organization.
In fiscal 2022, TIS received a “DC Excellent Company (Institutional Management (Governance) Category)” award at the 11th Japan DC Forum hosted by the Defined Contribution Pension Education Association, a non-profit organization.  TIS was the first company to be awarded in both categories.

Grand Prize in Good Career Company Award 2020

Japan Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare (MHLW) has established the “Good Career Company Award” to recognize companies making exemplary efforts to support the autonomous career development of their employees. The purpose of this program is to communicate and instill the importance of career development support by widely disseminating the program’s philosophy and activities.
TIS earned a grand prize (Minister of Health, Labor and Welfare Award) in 2020 in recognition of its “talented management that emphasizes the self-realization of each individual and the provision of career support that encourages women to play active roles.”

Telework Pioneer

Seeking to promote the spread of telecommuting, since fiscal 2015 the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications has announced its annual list of "Telework Pioneers". These are companies and organizations that have introduced and are promoting telecommuting. They are selected by a panel of external experts. TIS was selected as a Telework Pioneer in fiscal 2018, one of 36 organizations to make the list in that year.

Psychological Safety AWARD 2023

The Psychological Safety AWARD is a festival held by ZENTech, Inc. starting in 2022 to recognize and celebrate a wide range of efforts to create psychologically safe and effective teams and organizations.
TIS received the "GOLD RING" at the 2nd Psychological Safety AWARD 2023 in recognition of its efforts to promote psychological safety measures named "kaika".

iSTOXX® MUTB Japan Platinum Career 150

The iSTOXX MUTB Japan Platinum Career 150 Index tracks the performance of 150 Japanese companies that actively contribute to employee career development. A platinum career score is calculated for each company by evaluating three aspects of the company: long term view, active learning and social contribution.

EcoVadis 2023 Sustainability Survey (BRONZE)

EcoVadis, a corporate sustainability information platform for companies in 180 countries and 220 industries, has awarded TIS a "Bronze" rating in EcoVadis' 2023 Sustainability Survey.
