TIS INTEC Group Human Rights Policy

In TIS INTEC Group Philosophy “OUR PHILOSOPHY”, we define the corporation as "a social system that aims for both happiness that contributes to social expectations and people's happiness via value exchange” with stakeholders.
In alignment with OUR PHILOSOPHY, TIS INTEC Group, as “a social system that aims for happiness”, hereby announces the adoption of the TIS INTEC Group Human Rights Policy (“Policy”) so as to fulfill our responsibility of promoting respect for the human rights of all individuals affected by our business activities. This policy is based on the Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights unanimously endorsed by the United Nations Human Rights Council in June 2011.

1. Basic principles on human rights

TIS INTEC Group supports and respects the United Nations International Bill of Human Rights (specifically the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights, the International Covenant on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights, and the Second Optional Protocol to the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights), which sets out the basic human rights of every individual. Furthermore, we also support and respect international human rights standards for workers adopted not only in the ILO Declaration on Fundamental Principles and Rights at Work adopted by the International Labour Organization (ILO)*, which sets out people’s fundamental rights at work, but also in conventions on such matters as wages and working hours, in OECD Guidelines for Multinational Enterprises, and in the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples. Lastly, TIS as a company that has signed up to the United Nations Global Compact (“GC”), we support and respect the GC Ten Principles.
The “Policy” represents our commitment to respect human rights in order to fulfill our responsibilities toward all stakeholders, in accordance with OUR PHILOSOPHY, Group Code of Conduct, Basic Group Policy on CSR, Diversity & Inclusion Policy, Policy on Sustainable Procurement, and related internal policies and regulations.
* This includes support and respect for the Core Labour Standards: the effective abolition of child labour, the elimination of all forms of forced and compulsory labour, the elimination of discrimination in respect of employment and occupation, freedom of association and the effective recognition of the right to collective bargaining.

2. Scope

The “Policy” applies to all employees and executive officers of TIS INTEC Group. We also expect all of our business partners involved in our business, products or services to comply with the “Policy”.

3. Responsibility of respect for human rights

TIS INTEC Group recognizes that its business activities may directly or indirectly affect human rights. We do not tolerate any violation of the human rights of anyone involved in our business activities and are committed to taking appropriate remedies in case our business activity may cause or contribute to any adverse impact on human rights, thereby fulfilling our responsibility for the respect of human rights.
Although we recognize that we cannot completely ascertain all the ways in which our products and services are used by business partners etc., we do not intend for any of them to be used in any way that contributes to human rights abuses.
In the case where an adverse impact on human rights caused by our business partners etc. is appeared to be linked to the operations, products or services of TIS INTEC Group, we will ask the business partners etc. to respect, and not infringe, human rights.

4. Human rights due diligence

TIS INTEC Group will establish a system of human rights due diligence in accordance with the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights to identify, prevent and mitigate any adverse impact on human rights that TIS INTEC Group causes to our stakeholders.

5. Dialogue and consultation

In its implementation of the “Policy”, TIS INTEC Group will sincerely engage in dialogue and consultation with our stakeholders and will draw knowledge on human rights from independent external expertise.

6. Education and training

TIS INTEC Group will provide appropriate education and training to all employees and executive officers of TIS INTEC Group and our business partners, to ensure that the “Policy” becomes an incorporated part of all of our business activities and is implemented effectively.

7. Remediation

In the case where TIS INTEC Group’s business activities have caused or contributed to adverse human rights impact, whether directly, or indirectly through our business partners, we will seek to remedy of such adverse impact through dialogue or other appropriate processes in line with international standards.

8. Responsible executive officer(s)

TIS INTEC Group will entrust an executive officer or officers with the responsibilities for implementation of the “Policy”, who will supervise its status of implementation.

9. Information disclosure

TIS INTEC Group will disclose the status of implementation in accordance with the “Policy” on its website and through other media.

10. Applicable laws and regulations

TIS INTEC Group will comply with the laws and regulations of each countries and regions in which our business activities are conducted. In the case where there is a conflict between a country’s laws or regulations and internationally recognized human rights standards, we will pursue ways to make the best respect on international human rights principles.

The “Policy” has received the approval of our board of directors and the signature of our President.

The TIS INTEC Group recognizes that its business activities may directly or indirectly have a negative impact on human rights. In our business and human rights management, we have set in place a structure whereby officers are assigned to assume responsibility for human rights due diligence and for each stakeholder, with the director in charge of the relevant SBUs taking on responsibility for human rights as a whole. Human rights-related matters requiring decision by the Board of Directors are determined as appropriate by the Board of Directors.
