Located in Historic Gotenyama,A Project that Builds Toward the Future

In the Edo Period (1603–1868), Gotenyama was known as a place of scenic beauty, famous for its cherry blossoms. Today, several projects aim to bring the original scenery of the area back to life and restore the hill to its former glory. When completed, these developments will give rise to a landscape rich in natural greenery and a stunning location for enjoying the city skyline by night. GDC Gotenyama aims to be a significant presence in the area: coexistence with nature and joint development with the local community are among the guiding concepts of the project.

The History of Gotenyama : Gotenyama is believed to have been the place where Ota Dokan, builder of Edo Castle, had his residence in the Muromachi Period (1336–1573). The name, meaning “hill of mansions,” derives from the early Edo Period, when members of the Tokugawa shogun’s family built their private villas in this area.
